A 4.8-magnitude earthquake rocked Iloilo Thursday evening, Dec. 26.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), in a bulletin, said the quake occurred at 8:19 p.m., with the epicenter located in the town of San Enrique.

The quake, which was tectonic in origin, had a depth of 14 kilometers.

It was also felt in the following areas:
Intensity IV – San Enrique, Passi City, Dingle, Iloilo; Tapaz, Capiz; and Bago City, Negros Occidental
Intensity III – Iloilo City; La Carlota City, Negros Occidental; Bacolod City; Bugasong and Barbaza, Antique; and Nueva Valencia, Guimaras
Intensity II – President Roxas, Capiz; Masbate City

Instrumental intensities were recorded in the following areas:
Intensity II – Masbate City
Intensity I – San Jose, Antique
There were no immediate reports of damage or injury from the quake.IMT
