To improve the playing facility of young potential paddlers, the Lopue’s Table Tennis Association (LOPTTA) recently donated a table tennis table to Sum-ag National High School in Bacolod City.

According to LOPTTA president Dr. Leonito ‘Diotay’ Lopue, the donation is their way of further developing the sport in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental.

Following the donation in Sum-ag, the group is also planning to donate another one in a school in Cadiz City.

LOPTTA coach Marell Lagunday echoed the sentiment, calling the new equipment a “big boost” to aspiring table tennis players. School officials also said table tennis is a way to keep students away from developing vices.

To recall, the group also conducted focused on the basic fundamentals of sports and character development. It also served as scouting venue to produce more table tennis players at a grassroots level.

“By extending their training program outside LOPTTA training center justifies their vision which is to equip a club with exemplary leaders, standard facilities, trained member players in character and skills, and a channel to support players in local, national, and international championships,” said Lopue.

LOPTTA’s mission is to create an avenue for every table tennis player to enhance their skills, develop their attitudes and values, reach their goals and achieve success.IMT
