A member of the Iloilo City Government’s anti-smoking task force was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay San Isidro, Jaro district, Iloilo City on Wednesday morning, April 12.
The Jaro Police Station confiscated eight sachets of shabu containing 17 grams of shabu worth P115,600 from Stewart Macatual of Barangay Rizal, Lapuz district.
The 38-year-old suspect was nabbed after he sold a sachet of shabu worth P15,000 to a poseur buyer.
According to the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO), Macatual is considered a high-value individual (HVI) in the city.
The suspect is currently detained at the Jaro Police Station. Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act are now being readied against him.
In a report by radio station RMN-Iloilo, Iloilo City Anti-Smoking Task Force (ICAST) director Inigo Garingalao said the job order worker was automatically terminated from service.IMT
