A jewelry store inside a mall in the town of Balasan, Iloilo lost more than P5 million in jewelry, cash, and mobile phones to robbers.
The robbers, who allegedly belong to an “organized group,” bore a hole through the wall of Gaisano Mall on Sunday evening, Dec. 4.
Police Staff Sergeant Eddie Mars Magbanua of Balasan Municipal Police Station said the robbers carted away 964 pieces of jewelry worth at least P5 million.
“They also stole 29 units of mobile phones worth P300 thousand, and damaged three voults that contained cash worth P36 thousand,” he added.
Three security guards were on duty when the robbery incident took place, according to Magbanua.
Further investigation is ongoing to know the identities of the robbers.IMT
