The number of suspected cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Iloilo City has risen to 41.

Based on data from the City Health Office (CHO), 15 of the patients under investigation (PUIs) for the disease are from Jaro, the highest among all districts in the city.

Molo district recorded the second highest number with 6 PUIs; followed by Mandurriao and City proper, 5 each; Arevalo and Lapuz, 4 each; and La Paz, 2.

PUIs are those who “have symptoms of COVID-19 and have recently traveled to a place with local transmission of the disease or were in contact with a confirmed case.”

Jaro also has the highest number of persons under monitoring (PUMs) with 520, followed by Mandurriao, 267; Molo, 209; La Paz, 179; Arevalo, 177; City Proper, 141; and Lapuz, 117.

PUMs are those “without symptoms but have recently traveled to a place with local transmission of the disease or were in contact with a confirmed case.”

The entire city has been placed under “enhanced community quarantine” to stop the spread of COVID-19.IMT
