This was the best description for Ilonggo student-athletes after snatching the gold medals in Day 1 of the Western Visayas Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA) at the Colegio de la Purisima Concepcion in Roxas City, Capiz.
The ILOPRISAA team kicked off its campaign with two gold medals in the tertiary women’s billiards of the annual regional meet for private schools.
May Patrice Santiago captured a gold medal in women’s 9-ball event while Elan Maris Engada delivered the second gold for the ILOPRISAA delegation in women’s 8-ball category.
The team’s taekwondo jins also maintained their formidable appearance in the regionals after sweeping all the events. They were hailed overall champions in secondary boys’ and girls’ and tertiary men’s and women’s categories.
Around 1,500 delegate-athletes, coaches, and other officials are taking part in the regional competition.
Fifteen sporting events will be contested including athletics, badminton, basketball, beach volleyball, billiards, chess, dancesport, football, karatedo, lawn tennis, sepak takraw, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, and volleyball.
Meanwhile, the WVPRISAA Meet will also include oration, “prisayawan,” vocal solo, vocal duet, along with Mutya sang WVPRISAA.
The winners will represent the region at the National PRISAA, which is scheduled to take place from April 18 to 24 in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.IMT
