Showing impressive great moves and rhythms, Ilonggo dancers from Matias Balbastro Dance Academy snatched nine medals in the just-concluded Metro Classic Online Dancesport Championship.
Joemel Magallanes led the squad after earning two gold medals in Youth B Male and Youth C Male divisions. The Special Education-Integrated School for Exceptional Children (SPED-ISEC) student also notched gold in the Youth Male D category and silver in the Youth Male C category of the Cagayan De Oro Online Dancesport Competition.
On the other hand, Magallanes teammate Dana Angelica Galfo also garnered two gold medals in the Metro Classic Online Dancesport Championship after reigning supreme in the Youth C Female and Youth D Female.
“Thank you gd kay Lord for guiding me sa tanan na contest na gin intrahan ko wala yagid ko gin pa bayan. Kag pasalamat gd ako sa akon coach Matthew Balbastro maski ano ya ka busy sa school ya he takes time to train me,” Magallanes said.
Sabryna Hailey Gabasa and Jayden Gabasa ruled the Junior Duo division of the Cagayan De Oro Online Dancesport Competition and captured the gold medals.
In addition, West Visayas State University’s Leanne Reigh Lanceta got two silver medals in the Cagayan tilt after finishing second in Youth Female C and Youth Female D.
“Maski ka budlay sang situation subong due to pandemic padayon lng kita. Kag ipa kita sa iban na lugar na kita na Ilonggo fighting. COVID-19 pandemic cannot stop our passion and giving pride to our city,” Magallanes disclosed.IMT
