Ilonggo journalist Alex Vidal thinks IBF/WBA bantamweight champion Naoya “Monster” Inoue can easily defeat Pinoy world champion John Riel Casimero once both fighters decided to clash inside the ring.

“I think world kingpin Inoue, a power-punching bantamweight phenom, can easily defeat Casimero who was lucky to score a split decision against Gullermo Regondeaux recently,” said Vidal, a sportswriter for 30 years and is based in the US.

After the controversial win, Casimero was doing a lot of trash-talking last week saying that he believes Inoue and WBC 118-lb champion Nonito Donaire are “scared” of him.

On the other hand, Inoue, 28, said he’s ready to fight with 32-year-old Casimero and that he’s totally unafraid of him. He also wants to make sure the drug testing and weight management are in place before he fights the Pinoy boxer.

“Unlike Pacquiao who is very humble, Casimero loves to thrash talk and isn’t actually a dangerous fighter compared to former WBA bantamweight ruler Luisito Espinosa of Tondo, said Vidal.

Inoue also posted on Twitter that he wants to finalize a fight with Casimero. “When the match with Casimero is finalized, I want to beat (him to the ground) within the rules of boxing. Therefore, please manage the doping standards as you do with weight management for the match. I’m hoping it happens this year,” said Inoue on Twitter.

Both fighters have a good record. Casimero has a solid 31-4, 21 KOs record while Inoue has an impressive 21-0, 18 KOs card.

For Vidal, he said Inoue has a great advantage compared to Casimero as the former has already faced some of the concurrent famous and world caliber bantamweight contenders and is battle-scarred.

“Casimero’s exposure was mostly in South Africa were he battled lesser known African world champions who weren’t in Inoue’s caliber. He improved these past two years with his string of KO wins and his confidence has skyrocketed after beating the legendary Cuban two-time Olympic gold medalist. Casimero has a hara kiri style that is tailor-made for Inoue’s brawling style,” Vidal said.IMT
