After a hiatus, Ilonggo mixed martial artists Robin Catalan takes advantage of the lockdown by undergoing rigid training.

Known as “The Ilonggo” Catalan hopes to return on the ring after five months of rest. He records five wins under his belt since joining ONE in March 2016.

To recall, Catalan ended his 2019 bout with a blowout victory after knocking down Gustavo “El Gladiador” Balart of Cuba last November.

The Ilonggo fighter shared can’t wait to see action in the cage. However, it will take a little while due to the coronavirus disease 2019 that hit the country.

“What’s happening today is sad, not only in this country, but in the whole world because of the coronavirus. But we will rise and conquer this global pandemic, he added.

The 29-year-old athlete also trains with fellow fighter and brother Rene “The Challenger” by hosting different team building exercises.

“Now there’s a lockdown, but training still continues in the gym. For me, it’s the perfect opportunity to hone my skills and be ready when another opportunity comes knocking.”

“The lockdown is a good opportunity for us to know each other more and guide the younger ones in the gym. This is where we set the foundation of the group. We all have dreams, and we will try to reach them together,” Robin said. IMT
