Iloilo’s Michael Javelosa was selected in the PBA Season 46 Rookie Draft on Sunday, March 14.

Javelosa, who also played for Ateneo de Manila University before donning the jersey of Iloilo United Royals in the MPBL, was drafted by Terrafirma Dyip.

Meanwhile, Antique’s Tzaldy John Rangel, who played for the National University Bulldogs and San Miguel-Alab Pilipinas player, was selected third overall by the NLEX Road during the special draft.

The 6-foot-7 Rangel said joining in PBA is an opportunity for him to learn and grow as a player. The former mainstay of Hua Siong College of Iloilo couldn’t contain his excitement for finally playing in a huge court. “I am very excited. I’m just gonna do my part, work hard, and learn from coaches and players.”

 Prior to Rangel, Jordan Heading was selected top-overall by Terrafirma Dyip in the Gilas draft followed by William Navarro to NorthPort Batang Pier. Frederick Tungcab was selected by TNT Tropang GIGA at No. 4.

In the regular draft, the Dyip made Joshua Munzon as the No. 1 pick followed by Jamie Malonzo (NorthPort Batang Pier), Calvin Oftana (NLEX Road Warriors), Mikey Williams (TNT Tropang GIGA), Leonard Santillan (Rain or Shine Elasto Painters), Benedict Adamos (Alaska Aces), Larry Muyang (Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters), James Laput (Terrafirma Dyip), Alvin Pasaol (Meralco Bolts), Jerrick Ahanmisi (Magnolia Hotshots), Troy Rike (NorthPort Batang Pier), and Ken Holmqvist (Barangay Ginebra San Miguel Kings) to close the first round.

Drafted in the second round were Brian Enriquez (Barangay Ginebra San Miguel Kings), Reymark Acuno and Joshua Torralba (Blackwater Bossing), Taylor Browne (Alaska Aces), Franky Johnson (Rain or Shine Elasto Painters), Nicholas Demusis and Aljun Melecio (Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters), David Murrell (NLEX Road Warriors), Alec Stockton (Alaska Aces), Anton Asistio and Andrei Caracut (Rain or Shine Elasto Painters) and Mark Olayon (NorthPort Batang Pier).

Dhon Reverente (Terrafirma Dyip), Loren Brill (NorthPort Batang Pier), Andre Paras (Blackwater Bossing), Antonio Bonsubre (NLEX Road Warriors), Kenneth Mocon (Rain or Shine Elasto Painters), Ronnie de Leon (Magnolia Hotshots), RK Ilagan (Alaska Aces), Allen Enriquez (San Miguel Beermen), John Yasa (Meralco Bolts), Reymar Caduyac (Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters) and Michael Rio-Simmonds (TNT Tropang GIGA) were picked in the third round.

Aside from Javelosa, also selected in the fourth round were Marvin Moraga (NorthPort Batang Pier), Jun Manzo (Blackwater Bossing), Jose Presbitero (NLEX Road Warriors), RJ Argamino (Rain or Shine Elasto Painters), Andrew Estrella (Magnolia Hotshots), Mohammad Salim (San Miguel Beermen), Luis Brill (Meralco Bolts), Max Henstchel (Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters) and Joel Lee Yu (TNT Tropang GIGA).
