Another Ilonggo cager will see action in the UAAP men’s basketball tournament when it resumes on the hardcourt soon.
Following a shocking announcement from the UP Fighting Maroons about their new additions, Ilonggo Gerry Austin Abadiano is excited to share his skills to the maroons.
Abadiano, a Gilas Pilipinas point guard and former MVP of Palarong Pambansa, steered National University Bullpups to many championship titles.
Now that he will play in the collegiate level, the Ilonggo gunner will have to fight for game time with James Spencer and newcomer Sam Dowd.
For head coach Bo Perasol, whatever happens, Abadiano who played for Iloilo Sun Yat Sen and St. Robert’s International School is expected to bring his ace game in the team.
Coach John Guanco, former mentor of Abadiano in SRIA, is happy for Gerry and his accomplishments.
“I’m very proud gid kung ano ang na accomplish ya. He works so hard and sacrifice a lot para ma lab-ot ina and maka kadto sa eskwelahan nga gusto ya.
