They may landed to different teams in Manila before, but two lady cagers from Iloilo considered their transfer as an opportunity for a better future.

Siblings Karl Ann and Kaye Pinggol will see action in the national court. Rookie Karl Ann decided to play for the National University (NU), before spending her senior high school with the Chiang Kai Shek College and won gold for the country during an ASEAN School Games tournament.

“Gina look forward ko nga nami lang mapakita ko kag mabuligan ko ang team sa winning streak kag ma belong sa ila as a champion kag lalo sa lahat through basketball makatapos ko sang pag eskwela kag makabulig sa parents ko someday, Karl Ann shared.

On the other hand, Kaye was recruited by Adamson University Lady Falcons before seeing action in the last two years of her University Athletic Association of the Philippines in NU Lady Bulldogs.

Trained by Ilonggo coach Stephen Guanco during their stint in Pototan National High School (PNHS), the sisters admitted they missed their parents but they will sacrifice for them.

Karl Ann, who was a volleyball player in elementary, was also part of the Jr. WNBA All-Star in 2014. She’s also a Palarong Pambansa champion and most valuable player and a member of Philippine 3×3 basketball team.

“Na expect ko nga lain ang system kag game kay syempre lain ang hampang ka high school sa college kag mas hard ang training hay undefeated team kag mabudlayan gid ko adjust kay mga veterans dun sila kag ako rookie palang. Gaka pressure lang ko kay nakita nila ko nga ga champion kag MVP sa high school so basi grabe ang expectation nila sakon,” Karl Ann added. IMT
