The Ilongga winner of the jackpot in the 6/55 Grand Lotto has claimed her prize at the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) in Mandaluyong.
According to PCSO, the lucky bettor from Iloilo City is a 34-year-old housewife. Her name and exact address were not disclosed for security reasons.
She guessed the winning numbers 02-18-49-07-19-47 during the July 25 draw, which carried a total prize of P401,186,804.80.
The solo winner received more than P300 million as lotto winnings above P10,000 are subject to a 20 percent tax under the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion or TRAIN Law.
In a press release, PCSO said the winner has been playing lotto for the past six years.
“Sabi po ng asawa ko try ko daw po tumaya ng isa lang na lucky pick para maiba naman, kung swerte ka talaga mananalo ka kahit LP (Lucky Pick),” she said.
The winner plans to put up her own business in Iloilo and donate part of her winnings to church and charity institutions.
“Bilang pasasalamat po sa Diyos. Dahil sa biyayang ipinagkaloob niya, magbibigay po ako sa aming simbahan at mag-do-donate din po ako sa mga charity centers and foundations na tumutulong sa mga kapos-palad,” she said.IMT
