Iloilo Supermart continues to expand its operations with the opening of its 10th store in Barangay Jibao-an, Pavia town.

The new store – the biggest in Iloilo – has a spacious area, upgraded facilities and a wide array of retail choices, giving customers a convenient shopping experience.

The opening ceremony on October 2 was attended by Iloilo Second District Representative Mike Gorriceta, Pavia Mayor Luigi Gorriceta and other local leaders.

Iloilo Supermart was established in 1948 by Que Hua Pho, more popularly known as “Papa George” and has become the largest supermarket chain in Western Visayas.

After the success of his first supermarket venture – Washington Supermart (still operating along Guanco Street), Papa George opened the first Iloilo Supermart branch on Valeria Street, City Proper. Other branches are in Jaro, Mandurriao, and Arevalo.

Iloilo Supermart belongs to Iloilo Supermart Incorporated, along with Paperchase, Homestore, Tinapayan, Medicine Corner, The Atrium at the Capitol and Right Choice.

The company started with the slogan “Bargain Araw-Araw,” a phrase distinctive of Iloilo Supermart is the center of its goal for the Ilonggo shoppers—customer satisfaction through everyday low prices, superior service through fresh products, excellent customer service, and convenient shopping experience.

By 2004, it emphasizes its stature as Iloilo’s homegrown supermarket. Its slogan, “Aton Guid Ini!” boasted local pride as Iloilo Supermart is truly The Ilonggo Supermart. To complement this, the Iloilo Supermart Jingle, which was proudly composed by a local talent, was launched in 2005.

Today, Iloilo Supermart gears toward its commitment in providing the best, most affordable and quality products while helping make for a greener environment.IMT
