Two local startups from Iloilo prevailed over other entries in the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) 6’s 2023 Moonshot TNK Startup Pitching Competition held on Sept. 8.
The startup pitching competition, now on its 3rd year, is one of the innovative programs of DTI-6 that aims to support local startups in advancing their creative and innovative solutions for the betterment and advancement of Western Visayas in the four challenged sectors such as poverty, health, education and environment.
MoonShot TNK is also one of the ways of DTI-6 to help build a strong startup ecosystem in Western Visayas.
REZBIN, a startup based in Iloilo was named as the Best Tech Startup in the awarding ceremony and Banwa Pens, also from Iloilo, bagged the Best Non-Tech Startup category award.
While for the three special awards, RideSafe won the Best in Pitch, iTeach reaped the Best in Impact and CP Innovations obtained the Best in Green Technology award.
All winners of the special awards are from Iloilo.
All winners were each given a Plaque of Recognition and the Best tech and non-tech startups each received P30,000 while the three special awards received P10,000 each.
DTI-6 Regional Director Ermelinda P. Pollentes hopes that Region 6 will be recognized as the seat bed of Startups in the entire country.
