The province of Iloilo recorded on Tuesday, June 22, nine new deaths related to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
According to the Provincial Health Office (PHO), the latest fatalities include 57-year-old male from Alimodian, 39-year-old male from Pototan, 51-year old female from Leganes, 68-year-old female from Maasin, 68-year-old female from San Enrique, 72-year-old female from Estancia, 57-year-old female from Mina, 91-year-old female from Tigbauan, and 75-year-old female from San Joaquin.
These raised the province’s COVID-19 death toll to 276.
Pavia accounted for highest number of deaths in the whole province at 24, followed by Barotac Nuevo and Oton with 19 each; Santa Barbara, 18; Leganes and Banate, 13 each; Pototan, 11; Passi City, 10; San Enrique, Tigbauan, Alimodian and Estancia, 9 each; and Guimbal, San Joaquin, Cabatuan, and San Miguel, 8 each.
The PHO also registered 167 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total active case count to 2,466.
Since the pandemic broke out in March last year, the province has recorded 10,924 cumulative COVID-19 cases, of which 74.90 percent or 8,182 have recovered.IMT
