Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. has lifted the restrictions he earlier reimposed on residents in Western Visayas.

Residents of Iloilo City, Bacolod City, Guimaras, Aklan, Capiz, and Antique, under Executive Order (EO) No. 128-F, can now travel to and from Iloilo province without certificates and permits from authorities.

“On July 6, 2020, the Western Visayas Regional Inter-Agency Task Force (RTF) COVID-19 held a joint meeting and upon agreement and subject to reciprocity, the restriction of travel of persons into the province through the provincial borders with the provinces of Capiz, Antique, and Negros Occidental under EO No. 128-E shall be lifted,” the amended EO stated.

Also exempted from the travel restrictions are as follows:
▪Government officials and personnel travelling in the performance of their functions;
▪Health and emergency frontline personnel and duly authorized Humanitarian Assitance Actors (HAA);
▪Persons travelling for medical or humanitarian reasons;
▪Persons granted passage to the airport for tavel abroad or from the airport to the border, provided that, the travel within the province shall be non-stop from the border to airport or vice versa;
▪Overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and locally stranded individuals (LSIs) returning to the province;
▪Other persons transported through the efforts of the national goverment, upon conduct of the necessary protocols, and in concurrence with the receiving local government unit (LGU).

EO No. 128-F, which enforces modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) over the entire province of Iloilo to sustain quarantine procedures and disease prevention and control measures against the coronavirus disease 2019, was issued by Defensor on Tuesday, July 7.IMT
