Iloilo was placed under a tropical cyclone wind signal due to Typhoon Tisoy (Kammuri).
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) raised Signal No. 1 over Iloilo, Guimaras, Capiz, Aklan, Antique, and northern part of Negros Occidental.
In a bulletin issued 5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 1, the state weather bureau said Tisoy is already 595 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes.
The typhoon is now moving west at 20 kilometers per hour (km/h), packing maximum sustained winds of 140 km/h and gustiness of up to 170 km/h.
PAGASA also hoisted Signal No. 1 over Northern and Metro Cebu, Quezon including Polillo Island, eastern part of Nueva Ecija, Rizal, Bulacan, Batangas, Metro Manila, Oriental Mindoro, Camarines Norte, Masbate including Burias Island and Ticao Island, Marinduque, Romblon, Biliran, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Camotes Islands, Leyte, Southern Dinagat Islands, and Siargao Island.
Signal No. 2 was raised over Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, Northern Samar, and Eastern Samar.
Tisoy, which entered the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) yesterday, Nov. 30, is expected to make landfall in Bicol between Monday evening, December 2, and early Tuesday morning, December 3.IMT
