Iloilo Kisela Knights shared the top spot with the Negros Kingsmen in the Southern Division, following a victory in Day 2 of the Professional Chess Association of the Philippines (PCAP) Season 2.

The Ilonggos started their match with a win against Iriga, 17-4. IKK battled against Davao in the second game, winning the blitz, 6.5-0.5. Due to some technical glitches the rapid game was postponed.

Meanwhile, Negros Kingsmen also fortifies their PCAP campaign after an unblemished card. They survive Davao, 11-10 and recorded a 6-1 scorecard in the blitz category against

It was a neck-and neck victory for the Negrenses as they bowed in the blitz event. Trailing much, Negros crawled back with FM Mari Turqueza getting back at Abelgas and senior player Adrian Pacis, NM Edsel Montoya and Ian Montoyo also beating their Davao counterparts.

The crucial match was between Montoya and Lopez with the latter actually winning but misplayed a move that led to Montoya taking the crucial two points for a 9-5 score, giving Negros a 11-10 victory.IMT Sports
