Iloilo MVP Taekwondo jins once again proved supreme after capturing four gold, two silver and two bronze medals in the 2021 Smart/MVP Sports Foundation Global Online Taekwondo Championships over the weekend.

The tournament, which was organized by the Philippine Taekwondo Association (PTA), was participated in by hundreds of jins in the country.

Leading the home of young champions were Cyd Edryc Esmaña, Julianna Martha Uy, Andria Margaret Palabrica, and Lindsy Lorraine Degayo who won the gold medal in the recognized Poomsae.

Maintaining their menacing forms in the online tournament were silver medalists Shanen Anica Feranco and Phil Regalado and bronze finishers Sirhc Einreb Damaolao and Viene Marie Dulaca.

For Palabrica, she said the competition is quite hard and she felt nervous because her opponents are also good.

“I prayed hard to God during training and taping that I will be able to deliver my best. I am so happy I made it. I am always thankful to Sir Mark, and all the coaches who helped me in my taekwondo tourney. I always promise to train harder and be better than what I did. Without my coaches and God, I know this will be impossible,” she added.

Diego Garcia, Iloilo MVP coach, said the tournament has been tough for us, competing against the other countries.

“Every category has over 30 players, but still, we manage to climb to the top and win medals for our country. This coming September 25 and 26, our speed kicking jins are all-set to compete and to bring glory once more for our country,” he shared.IMT Sports
