Being a home of the champions, Iloilo Mark V. Pinggol (MVP) taekwondo gym continue to put a dazzling show in national arenas.

The Denmark Pinggol-mentored jins recently made waves in the 2023 PTA National CPJ Taekwondo Kyorugi and Poomsae Championships held at the Ayala Malls in Pasay.

Bringing home one gold, three silver, and five bronze medals, the Iloilo-based team was led by lone gold medalist Sheine Nicole De Asis who defeated her opponents to clinch the title in the Cadet Female Light Middleweight division.

After some hiatus, the trio of Cyd Edryc Esmaña, Justin Adrian Apura, and Andria Margaret Palabrica showed great forms and rhythms to take the silver medal against powerhouse jins.

Adding their medal haul, Esmaña, Uy, and Pequierda teamed up in the Team Juniors and successfully got the bronze medals.

Moreover, Julianna Martha Uy, Niesha Kariz Pequierda, Esmaña, Apura, and Palabrica also garnered the bronze medals after their impressive finishes in the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) – sanctioned taekwondo tourney.

Completing the celebration, Apura and Palabrica won the silver medal in the Mixed Pair Cadet category.

Other MVP jins who joined the tournament included Samantha Gayle Go and Phil Caleb Regalado who participated in the Cadet Division welterweight category and the Cadet Male Division, respectively.IMT Sports
