Malls in Iloilo have announced the temporary closure of their operations amid the threat of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
SM City Iloilo in Mandurriao district is temporarily closed from March 19 until further notice.
The move “is in support of the government efforts to fight against the spread of COVID-19.”
“However, those stores offering basic necessities such as supermarkets, banks, hardware, select restaurants that offer take out or home deliveries and other essentials will remain open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Mon. to Sun.,” the mall management said in a statement.
All Robinsons Malls in Iloilo and in other areas in the Visayas are also closed from March 20 until further notice.
“Supermarkets, pharmacies, banks, hardware stores, convenience stores, select restaurants with takeout and delivery services, and other essentials may continue to be open in order to serve the public.”
Marymart Center also suspended its operations. It is closed from March 20 to April 15, 2020.
“Streetside restaurants, pharmacies, supermarkets, and banks shall remain open subject to government regulations.”
GT Mall Molo and GT Town Center Pavia are likewise closed from March 20 until further notice.
Other mall operators in the city and province of Iloilo have yet to issue advisories.IMT
