Jeepneys and other public utility vehicles (PUVs) in Iloilo have been gradually adopting the use of cashless payment system.
The implementation of cashless payments is part of the government’s PUV Modernation Program (PUVMP).
On Wednesday, April 4, Metro Iloilo Transport Service Cooperative (MITSCOOP) launched Panay Card for their automatic fare collection system (AFCS).
Jose Marie De los Reyes, MITSCOOP chairman, said the system powered by Nfinite IT Solutions Services Inc. ensures an efficient experience for the commuting public.
Accredited e-load stations will be put up to allow commuters to reload their cards using digital wallets and banking apps.
MITSCOOP has more than 200 units of modern jeepneys operating in Iloilo City and its neigboring towns.
