Iloilo was among the top 10 provinces in the Philippines with the highest locally sourced revenues (LSRs) in 2021.

Based on the latest report released by the Department of Finance’s Bureau of Local Government Finance (DOF-BLGF), Iloilo province ranked seventh after collecting P957.18 million last year.

According to BLGF, LSRs “are collections generated by LGUs [local government units] from real property tax, tax on business, other taxes, regulatory fees, service/user charges, and receipts from economic enterprises.”

Rizal had the highest LSR with P1.836 billion, followed by Bulacan, P1.820 billion; Pampanga, P1.447 billion; Quezon, P1.426 billion; Bataan, P1.423 billion; and Batangas, P1.204 billion.

Cavite ranked eighth with P911.74 million, followed by Bukidnon, P879.56 million; and Cebu, P834.92 million.

In terms of collection efficiency of LSRs, Iloilo ranked eighth among all provinces in the country with a collection rate of P89 percent.IMT
