Passenger motor boats plying between Guimaras and Iloilo have been disallowed to ferry “all types of bicycles.”
The ban, which was ordered by the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA-6), took effect on Thursday, Sept. 22.
In an official statement, the Jordan Motor Banca Cooperative (JMBC) said “the management is [currently] coordinating with the authorities” to reconsider the decision to impose the ban.
“Rest assured that JMBC will make proper representations to all related agencies regarding this matter,” it said.
Iloilo City and Guimaras are known as the country’s “Bike Capital” and “Bike Paradise,” respectively.IMT
