Iloilo farmers to receive P5K one-time cash aid

Farmers in the province of Iloilo will receive a one-time cash assistance from the Department of Agriculture (DA). 

The province, according to DA-6, has a total of 46,516 qualified beneficiaries. Each eligible farmer is entitled to get P5,000.

The cash aid is under DA’s Rice Farmers Financial Assistance (RFFA) Program. It is intended for farmers who are tilling 0.5 to two hectares of land.

Remelyn Recoter, DA-6 director, said they had so far released P165 million to 33,000 beneficiaries in the province through direct cash transfer.

“They (beneficiaries) will be given a transaction code and they can claim the money through remittance centers,” she told reporters.

The entire province has been placed under the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) since March 20 to contain the spread of the dreaded coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).IMT
