Iloilo City now has the highest active cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the whole Western Visayas region.
The Department of Health (DOH-6) on Thursday, June 3, reported 123 new COVID-19 cases in the city, which is currently under modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ).
The additional infections brought the city’s total active case count to 1,755.
Negros Occidental accounted for the second highest number of active cases in the region at 1,744, followed by Bacolod City with 1,257; Iloilo province, 1,529; Capiz, 586; Antique, 349; Aklan, 366; Guimaras, 120.
All in all, the region has 7,706 active cases or patients who are still infected with SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.IMT
