Iloilo City implemented the best tourism practice in the Philippines during the pandemic. 
The highly urbanized city was adjudged grand winner for Best Tourism Practices during the Pandemic at the 2021 Pearl Awards held Sunday night, Dec. 12, at the Manila Metropolitan Theater. 
The virtual staging of the world-renowned Dinagyang Festival last year was the city’s official entry. 
Dubbed as Dinagyang 360 degrees: Going Digital and Global amidst the Pandemic, the 53rd edition of the festival was held last January 24.
The award was received by City Tourism Officer Junel Ann Divinagracia. 
Bolinao, Pangasinan landed fourth place while Davao City and Dolores, Quezon clinched the third and fourth places, respectively.
The Pearl Awards is an award giving body organized by the Association of Tourism Officers in the Philippines (ATOP) and the Department of Tourism (DOT). It recognizes best tourism practices of the local government units and individuals.IMT
