Iloilo City to extend financial assistance to LGUs affected by Taal eruption

The Iloilo City Government will give financial assistance to local government units (LGUs) heavily affected by the phreatic eruption of Taal Volcano in Batangas.

Mayor Jerry P. Treñas said the aid will come from the city government’s Quick Response Fund (QRF) or stand-by fund for relief and recovery projects and activities. 

The eruption, which occurred on Jan. 12, caused  massive damage to homes and livelihoods of thousands of people.

Treñas said he will hold a meeting with other city officials to identify “deserving recipients” of their assistance.IMT
