Iloilo City, which is currently experiencing a spike in the number of new coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases, will remain under modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) until June 15, 2021.
The extension of the city’s quarantine status was announced by President Rodrigo Duterte during his a pre-recorded address late Monday evening, May 31.
Based on the May 31 bulletin issued by the Department of Health (DOH-6), the city has 1,589 active cases of COVID-19, the second highest in Western Visayas after Negros Occidental (2,097).
Meanwhile, the province of Iloilo and the rest of the region will remain under the least restrictive modified general community quarantine (MGCQ).IMT
