The Iloilo City Government started Monday, Feb. 14, the pediatric COVID-19 vaccination after it received over the weekend its first batch of 1,000 vials good for 10,000 doses of Pfizer vaccines for children aged 5 to 11.

The launching program was attended by Mayor Jerry Treñas, Dr. Teresa Martirez-Hallegado, president of Philippine Pediatric Society Western Visayas chapter, Hospital Administrator Sr. Ma. Jessica Formacion, and representative from Department of Health regional office.

Treñas encouraged parents and guardians to have their children vaccinated to boost immunity and protection against Covid-19 and prevent severe infection.

Three megasites at SM City, Robinsons Jaro and Megaworld catered to kids aged 5-11 who are city residents and non-residents.

The allocation of Pfizer for the kids’ vaccination from the national government came a week after its rollout started.Iloilo City PIO
