Iloilo City will remain under general community quarantine (GCQ) until the end of November this year.
This was announced by President Rodrigo Duterte in a taped address aired on Tuesday, Oct. 27.
“Look, we are not here to make your life miserable or sad, we are here to make your life comfortable and to make you happy,” he said.
According to Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Francisco Duque, local government units (LGUs) can appeal to the national government’s inter-agency task force (IATF) on the pandemic response the community quarantine classification of their respective jurisdictions until today, Oct. 28.
Based on the Oct. 27 bulletin issued by the Department of Health (DOH-6), Iloilo City has 3,710 confirmed cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Of the number, 3,175 are recoveries, 85 are fatalities, and 647 are active cases.
GCQ will also remain in effect in Bacolod City until Nov. 30.
The rest of the Western Visayas region, meanwhile, will be under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ), the lowest quarantine level.IMT
