Iloilo City has remained an attractive destination for business process outsourcing (BPO) companies, a recent survey showed.
Based on the survey conducted by the Contact Center Association of the Philippines (CCAP), the city emerged as the fourth most preferred location in the country by BPO industry players with 18 percent.
The survey was presented by CCAP managing director Rosario Cajucom-Bradbury during the Online Slingshot Region 6 2023 (OSR6-23) last week.
Bradbury noted that most of the firms that chose Iloilo City as their next expansion site are from the healthcare industry.
The top spot was claimed by Cavite City with 38 percent, followed by San Fernando City with 23 percent, and Batangas, Puerto Princesa and Metro Rizal with 21 percent.
The survey, Bradbury said, was done in line with the 2023-2028 Philippine Development Plan. It “capitalizes on the 31 cities in the country named by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) under the Digital Cities Program.
According to Philippine Software Industry Association President and Spring Valley Tech Corp. CEO Jonathan D. De Luzuriaga, “the advantage of Iloilo City in terms of Information Technology – Business Process Management (IT_BPM) Industry development is that the talent, cost, business environment, and infrastructure are already a given factor.”
At present, there are more than 100 BPO firms operating in the province and city of Iloilo.IMT
