The number of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infections in Iloilo City went down in January this year compared to the previous month’s record.
From January 1 to 25, 2021, the city government’s Emergency Operation Center recorded 231 cases of COVID-19.
The figure was lower by 10 percent compared to 247 registered in the same period in December last year.
Barangay Balabago in Jaro district had the most number of new cases in the city in the first 25 days of the year at 16.
Based on Data from the Department of Health (DOH-6), the city logged a total 4,915 infections since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020, of which 4,536 have recovered and 154 have died.
Iloilo is currently under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ), the lowest form of lockdown imposed by the government.IMT
