The Iloilo City Government’s Local Economic Enterprise Office (LEEO) recorded an increase in its revenue collection.
From July 23 to 30 this year, the LEEO collected P1,281,310.62 from public markets, slaughterhouse, and transport terminal.
The figure was 69 percent higher compared to P758, 703 in the previous week, July 12 to 22.
Mayor Jerry P. Treñas, in a press release, attributed the increase to the rigorous efforts of supervisors to collect necessary fees.
“I have ordered market supervisors to be diligent in their work, otherwise they will be removed from their present posts and re-assigned to other offices,” he said.
The LEEO supervises the Iloilo Central Market, Iloilo Terminal Market, Jaro Big Market, Jaro Small Market, La Paz market, Mandurriao market, and Arevalo market.
It also oversees the operations of the city’s slaughterhouse in Jaro district and Molo Public Transport Terminal.IMT
