Tour-guiding is not just a joyride.
Iloilo City Hall will have its own in-house official tour guides accredited by the Department of Tourism (DOT).
This, after three personnel have started a four-month training with the Association of Iloilo DOT-Accredited Travel and Tour Operators until January 2020.
“This will not only benefit the participants but as well as promote the rich culture and heritage of our beloved city to tourists. The selected employees have background in tourism,” said Maria Mathilde T. Octavio, Special Assistant of Mayor Jerry P. Treñas.
She added they will be guiding the guests and visitors of the City Government.
The interactive training program is loaded with knowledge of region’s destinations, research skills, and public speaking techniques.
It is also designed to guide the participants through skills-based workshop and help them apply the elements of effective tour-guiding. Iloilo City PIO
