The Iloilo City Government has already surpassed its revenue collection target for this year.

As of Nov. 30, the city earned P1.52 million from taxes, fees, charges and local enterprises, among others according to the City Treasurer’s Office.

The amount was higher by P208 million compared to its 2019 target of P1.31 billion.

City Treasurer Jinny C. Hermano noted that tax collections accounted for the bulk of the total revenues.

According to him, the biggest chunk of the tax collections were from businesses and real properties.

Hermano said they are expecting to collect at least P85 million from the city’s different revenue sources for the month of December.

“Following the trend, collection efficiency from local sources may reach 120 percent or P290 million higher than the estimated collectibles for 2019,” he said.IMT
