Iloilo City will revert to general community quarantine (GCQ) while the province of Iloilo will remain under modefied GCQ from August 16 to 31.
The city’s new quarantine status, which was approved by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, was announced by Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque on Saturday, Aug. 15.
Among the areas in Western Visayas, only Iloilo City will go back to GCQ from MGCQ.
In a statement, Mayor Jerry Trenas said they are currently checking GCQ protocols.
“Aside from the other protocols already in place, the IATF guidelines provide that restaurants can only provide take out – no dine in , the spas and the gyms will not be allowed to open in the meantime.”
Based on the August 14 bulletin issued by the Department of Health, the city recorded 501 confirmed cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), the highest in the region.
The figure includes 47 recoveries, 9 deaths, and 401 active cases.
Iloilo province, on the other hand, registered 223 infections, including 78 recoveries, 8 deaths, and 137 active cases.IMT
