The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) hoisted Signal No. 3 over Iloilo City and 18 towns in Iloilo province due to Typhoon Odette.
The towns under Signal No. 3 are Pavia, Leganes, Santa Barbara, San Miguel, Alimodian, Oton, Leon, Tigbauan, Tubungan, Igbaras, Guimbal, Miagao, San Joaquin, Dumangas, Zarraga, New Lucena, Cabatuan, and Maasin.
The state weather bureau also placed Guimaras and the southern portion of Antique (San Remigio, Patnongon, Belison, San Jose, Sibalom, Hamtic, Tobias Fornier, Anini-Y) under Signal No. 3.
Signal No. 4 was raised over the southern portion of Negros Occidental (La Castellana, Pontevedra, Hinigaran, Moises Padilla, Isabela, Binalbagan, City of Himamaylan, City of Kabankalan, Ilog, Cauayan, Candoni, City of Sipalay, Hinoba-An).
Signal No. 2 was hoisted over the rest of Negros Occidental, rest of Iloilo, rest of Antique, Capiz, and Aklan.
As of 5 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 16, Odette, with international rame Rai, was last spotted in the vicinity of Liloan, Southern Leyte.
The typhoon is currently packing maximum sustained winds of 195 kilometers per hour (km/h) near the center, gustiness of up to 270 km/h, and central pressure of 915 hPa.
