A 24-year-old cabin crew will represent Iloilo City in Binibining Pilipinas 2020.
Karen Laurrie Bano Mendoza, the newly crowned Miss Iloilo – Binibining Pilipinas 2020, has been chosen as one of the 40 official candidates of the national pageant.
“I am very proud to represent Iloilo City in one of the prestigious pageants in the Philippines,” she said in a media interview after the coronation night of Miss Iloilo 2020 last month.
The Miss Iloilo 2020 pageant was among the major activities of this year’s Dinagyang Festival.
Mendoza, a native of Concepcion town in Iloilo province, went through a rigorous screening process conducted by Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. (BCPI).
The mental health advocate is hopeful to bring home one of the titles.
Five crowns are up for grabs in the pageant. These include Bb. Pilipinas International, Bb. Pilipinas Supranational, Bb. Pilipinas Grand International, Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental, and Bb. Pilipinas Globe.
Mendoza is a Tourism graduate from West Visayas State University (WVSU).IMT
