Some 14,000 barangay volunteer workers in Iloilo have started to receive their cash incentives from the Iloilo Provincial Government.
The cash incentive amounting to P4,000 each is given to the volunteers annually in recognition of their help in the implementation of the provincial government’s programs and projects on health, social welfare, population and nutrition management, among others.
The province has allotted P58,944,000 for the cash incentives of said volunteers consisting of Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), Barangay Service Point Officers (BSPOs), Day Care Workers (DCWs) and Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS).
According to Gov. Arthur Defensor, Jr., the cash incentive is just a small amount but it could make the volunteers and their family happy this Christmas season.
“This is our way of acknowledging your voluntary service and your important role in the success of our programs and projects,” Defensor said in a Capitol media release.
