The Iloilo International Airport is off-limits to persons who are not fully vaccinated against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
The “no vaccination, no entry” policy in the airport was contained in a memorandum issued by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) on Jan. 12.
According to CAAP-Iloilo terminal supervisor Art Parreño, all airport workers, stakeholders, and passengers aged 12 years old and above are are required to present their vaccination cards.
“First gate palang, they will be reminded nga i-prepare na ang full vax card para nga indi na magpug-ok,” said Parreño.
“Ang indi fully vaccinated, ti wala na, indi na kamo mabaton. Effective immediately ini,” he added.
Those unvaccinated will undergo reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) testing regularly on their expense.
Exempted from the policy are individuals with medical conditions that prevent full COVID-19 vaccination based on signed medical certificates with name and contact details of the licensed physician.
However, they are still required to present the negative RT-PCR test result taken within the last 48 hours before entry.IMT
