The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) admitted having a hard time enforcing physical distancing during campaign sorties.
“Makita naton nga daw mabudlay man nga i-observe pero always ang aton mga kapulisan dira sa area nga garemind nga kon pwede observe lang ang physical distancing,” Police Colonel Leo Batiles, ICPO director, said in a radio interview.
Physical distancing is one of the minimum public health standards set by the Department of Health (DOH) for COVID-19 mitigation.
This, according to DOH Secretary Francisco Duque III, has proven effective in preventing the spread of COVID-19.
Meanwhile, Batiles said so far, they have not recorded violent incidents in the city since the beginning of the campaign period for local candidates on March 25.
“Ginatuman gid naton ang direktiba halin sa headquarters nga siguraduhon gid ang seguridad sang mga tawo kag matawhay ang syudad sang Iloilo,” he stressed.
“Madeploy kita sang [personnel] may request man ukon wala,” Batiles added.IMT
