Iloilo City will start talking with experts on how to revive the economy reeling from the ill effects of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) crisis.
The city government and the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P) will hold “Bangon Iloilo! Padayon sa Pagbátò” A Forum on Economic Recovery via Zoom from 9a.m. to 11 a.m. today, July 27.
It tapped the expertise of top economists to provide a clear picture of what’s in store and what potentials can the metropolis take advantage of.
Discussions will center on topics featuring: Economic Prospects in the New Future: Implications for Iloilo by UA&P Co-Founder Dr. Bernardo M. Villegas; and Drivers of Iloilo’s Economy by UA&P President Dr. Winston Conrad B. Padojinog.
Mayor Jerry Treñas said UA&P’s economic briefing will give businessmen a glimpse to see how the economy will be going for the rest of the year.
The endeavor is in coordination with the Iloilo Economic Development Foundation (ILED), Iloilo Business Club (IBC), Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI)-Iloilo, Federation of Filipino Chinese Association of Panay, and Filipino Chinese Associations of Iloilo City, and Iloilo Hotels, Resorts and Restaurants Association (IHRRA).
This is a major initiative to help Iloilo City in recovering from economic slump brought about by the pandemic.
