It will be a sporty holiday for Ilonggos as the Iloilo City Government’s Sports Development Division is set to host the Mayor Jerry P. Treñas Holiday Sporting Events from December 19-22, 2019.
Ilonggo athletes will be entertained with various sports such as arnis, lawn tennis, taekwondo, and table tennis.
For arnis, taekwondo, and table tennis, the venue will be at Gaisano Capital Iloilo City Center Mall, while lawn tennis will be mounted at La Paz plaza with three playing courts.
After the Mayor Jerry P. Treñas Dinagyang Basketball Cup, the Iloilo City Sports Development Division eyes to create an inter-agency basketball tournament.
According to Sports Executive Assistant Rudiver Jungco Sr., the competition aims to build camaraderie among companies based in Iloilo. Planning to mount it annually, the event will also serve as one of the competitive leagues for Ilonggos.
He also shared that right after the Dinagyang Cup, they will pursue and ask interested agencies and start the tournament with an own game format.IMT
