Iloilo City logged 370 new cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on Tuesday, Jan. 18.
The figure, based on data from the Department of Health (DOH-6), was the highest in the whole Western Visayas,
Iloilo province had the second-highest new cases with 237, followed by Capiz, 116; Antique, 108; Negros Occidental, 77; Aklan, 61; Bacolod City, 56; and Guimaras, 6.
Overall, the region registered 1,031 new cases, raising the region’s total case count to 153,436, including 140,268 recoveries, 4,728 deaths and 8,362 active cases.
Iloilo City has the highest number of active cases in the region with 1,965, followed by Iloilo province, 1,542; Negros Occidental, 1,441; Aklan, 1,020; Bacolod City, 973; Capiz, 728; Antique, 645; and Guimaras, 68.
The entire region is currently under Alert Level 3.IMT
