The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) has laid down some proposals to curb killings and other crimes perpetrated by riding-in-tandem suspects.

Police Colonel Uldarico Garbanzos, ICPO director, recommended the helmet sticker policy to easily spot riders of interest.

The proposed measure will require motorcycle riders to put water-proof stickers of their license plate numbers on their helmets.

Garbanzos said the numbers, which should be readable at a distance, will be encoded in a database.

The ICPO also proposed putting up “toll gates” in all entry and exit points in the city.

Garbanzos said high-definition closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras must be installed in the areas for facial recognition of drivers.

Another proposal by the ICPO was to require all drivers to install video cameras in their vehicles.

All these, according to Garbanzos, were already relayed to Councilor Carlos Javellana, chairman of the City Council’s committee on police matters.

Javellana said he would present the proposals to other members of the City Council.IMT
