Residents of Iloilo and the rest of Western Visayas will experience hotter weather this weekend.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the heat index or the temperature felt by the human body could reach up to 38 degrees Celsius in the region.
Raffy Tapales, chief metrological officer of PAGASA-Iloilo, said despite warmer temperatures, the country has not yet entered the dry (summer) season.
According to the state weather bureau’s forecast, Iloilo, Guimaras Negros Occidental, Capiz, Aklan, and Antique will experience temperatures ranging from 25 to 32 degrees Celsius today, March 19, and in the next four days.
To avoid heat exhaustion, the public is advised not to stay outdoors during peak hours of the sun and to drink lots of water.
Tapales, however, said rains may still be experienced in some parts of the region due to localized thunderstorms.IMT
