Guimaras Governor Samuel Gumarin has thanked Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas for his “untiring assistance and support” to their residents who are undergoing mandatory quarantine in the city.
Treñas allowed repatriated Guimarasnon OFWs and locally stranded individual (LSIs) to stay in the city’s quarantine facilities.
Of the 36 coronavirus-positive repatriates in Western Visayas, three are residents of Guimaras.
Based on the latest data from the Department of Health (DOH-6), two of the infected Guimarasnons have already recovered from the disease, while the remaining one is still admitted in a hospital in Iloilo.
Gumarin also extended his “heartfelt gratitude” to Treñas for assisting their concerns at the Parola Ferry Terminal and for helping them in making it “safe for all of us.”
“Rest assured that the province of Guimaras who considers the city as our big brother will continue to coordinate with you and will likewise support the city for the betterment of our region,” the governor said.IMT
