A native of Guimaras province was among the casualties in the powerful earthquake that struck Turkey on Feb. 6.

The victim was identified as Rosemarie Ga Uzagan of Barangay Daragan in the town of Buenavista.

The 61-year-old Guimarasnon was working as a domestic helper in Antakya district of Hatay province.

Her body was retrieved from the collapsed house of her friend on Feb. 9 or three days after the deadly quake.

The overseas Filipino worker (OFW), who flew to Turkey before the COVID-19 pandemic struck, was married to a Turkish national.

In a radio interview, Pastor Winston Ga, the victim’s relative, appealed to the government to help them facilitate the shipment of Rosemarie’s body to Guimaras.IMT
